It gives me great pleasure to welcome each of you to the TOYOTA Junior Golf World Cup 2008 Supported by JAL. Over the years through much hard work by the committee this tournament has involved into the premier junior golf championship in the world. During this year along over 60 countries competed in qualifying Japan. The committee welcomes the sixteen countries from five continents that will now match their players skills in international competition at the highest level.

In addition, to the high caliber of competition this event strives to uniquely blend this component along with ensuring that each individual will enjoy and experience the culturally rich country of Japan. The international committee encourages the participants to take full advantage of interacting with your gracious host and furthermore reaching out to players from other geographical locations. This should assist you as you continue in your chosen careers.

This year the tournament is held at Chukyo Golf Club Ishino Course. This golf course sets up well for a Junior Golf Championship and should provide a good test for all the players.

This tournament could not have achieved all the successes that have been realized over the past several years without the work and effort of so many.

The countless hours the volunteers, committee members, supporters and staff of Chukyo Golf Club Ishino Course have spent throughout this year in preparation should be recognized and appreciated.

In conclusion, congratulations to each participant for being selected to represent your country. I wish each of you the best of success in this tournament.
